So, if you read back a few posts you might remember that I had been complaining of feeling short of breath, no energy, blah blah blah. I went for chemo yesterday, and although my mental outlook was much better, I was still huffing and puffing and couldn't catch my breath. Long story short, I had a pulmonary angiogram and turns out I have Pulmonary Emboli (Embolisms?) or blood clots in my lungs, also have DVT (deep vein thrombosis) in my left leg. this is all due to the cancer. I feel fine as long as I don't exert myself (like walking 10 feet) . They have me on oxygen and a heparin drip to bust the clots, and when I am discharged in 3-5 days I will continue on coumadin (another blood thinner).
let me repeat, I FEEL FINE! This is just another bump in the road, not unexpected but a pain in the patoot nonetheless!

Glad you are where you need to be, and that the Emboli are being controlled. Take care of yourself. Maggie and Bailey are in great hands. I guess I should have mentioned Luis before the doggies, huh? Hang in there- we are all praying for you!!!
Dear Barb -
Enjoying your blog. I think it's great you're going on a cruise. I hope to be able to do one before I get too sick.
I think it would be great to be Alien for Halloween. I wanted to spook the kids with my short hair and jaundiced eyes, but my husband had to work and so I wasn't able to hide and pop out.
Don't get rid of your bigger clothes. A few months ago I couldn't stay at 140 lbs and now I weigh 178 from steroids - the most I've ever weighed.
Hang in there, baby. A good attitude and a sense of humor is the best thing for fighting cancer.
And I, too, am living for the Sex & the City movie.
